  • This workshop will demonstrate creative ways to have conversations with children, youth and family members in order to help them identify where and with whom they experience feelings of support and belonging, both at school, in social situations and at home. Connectedness and social inclusion promotes resilience and wellbeing. <p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Belonging Maps are highly engaging activities that can help children and young people articulate how they are faring in life.</strong></p> <b> Learning Outcomes</b><b>:</b> <ul> <li>Participants will have increased knowledge about how to structure safe, trust-building conversations that identify stressors and children and young peoples unexpressed needs;</li> <li>Participants will have increased understanding of how to apply innovative & creative and practices in their work, and</li> <li>Participants will have increased confidence and skills for working in situations of unpredictability to identify, acknowledge and develop connectedness and belonging and enhance resilience.</li> </ul> <h2 class="fusion-responsive-typography-calculated" data-fontsize="42" data-lineheight="42px"><strong>Who should attend this workshop?</strong></h2> TEI funded Service Providers in WSNPBM <h2 class="fusion-responsive-typography-calculated" data-fontsize="42" data-lineheight="42px"><strong>Trainer</strong></h2> <b>Deidre Ikin </b>- For over 30 years, Diedre has had experience working in health and community services, in direct service roles in regional, remote/isolated or rural areas. She has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for 18 years in mental health, drug and alcohol, family violence and Stolen Generations services. She is committed to recovery oriented approaches using strengths-based, narrative practices.
