One of the most popular musical events in the country, the Australian International Music Festival is an event that attracts over 1000 participants each year from all over the world. This event features musicians performing in a number of venues around Sydney including Angel Place City Recital Hall, St. Andrew‘s Cathedral and the iconic Sydney Opera House. Since 1989 the Australian International Music Festival has seen young musicians from within Australia and around the world converge on Sydney for a special cultural and educational experience. The festival features performances from a number of different musical ensembles including orchestras, choirs and jazz bands. Not only are there a wide range of musical performances staged in some of Sydney’s most iconic venues, but also workshops and cultural exchange sessions. The Australian International Music Festival lasts for seven days and groups can compete to win bronze, silver and gold plaques based on their concert performance.
