Darwin Fringe Festival

Darwin Fringe Festival is a major event in the Top End, and it is the biggest platform for upcoming artists. The event is open to people of all ages.

The event is held over a period of around ten days, and the dates for the event will usually be announced a year in advance. The point of the Festival is to support all artists and promote the local entertainment sector. Since the event attracts people from around the country, it can give local artists an opportunity to showcase their work to diverse audiences.

Darwin Fringe Festival was part of the Bougainvillea Festival in the 1980s, and it was established as an independent festival in 2014. In this particular year, the festival included more than 20 events. By 2019, the festival had grown to include 100 shows and 180 performances.
