Million Dollar Fish

Million Dollar Fish was started in 2015 and has helped to increase tourism in the Top End. In the event, participants try to catch the big $1 million fish. The fish will be released secretly to one of the main fishing points.

The Top End is widely regarded as one of the main fishing destinations in the world. While this event appeals more to people who are enthusiastic about fishing, novices are also welcome.

You don’t have to be skilled at fishing to catch the verified tagged barra. Now, the organisers of the event are releasing more than 100 tagged barra, and these have small to large cash prizes. The fish will be released to five major fishing regions, and these are Arnhem Land, Tiwi Islands, Katherine, Darwin, and Kakadu. Million Dollar Fish is held once every year.
