Sydney to Hobart

The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race is a yearly event that starts on Boxing Day, after Christmas, at the Sydney Harbour. The race ends in Hobart, Tasmania. The yacht race is one of the most difficult ones globally, and the race route is over one thousand kilometres long.

The race on water is one of the top offshore yacht races globally and attracts Australian and global participants. The highest award is the Tattersall Cup, while other awards are the line honours for the yacht that crosses the line first and the race record award. The winners will start coming in on the second day, which is impressive for this very challenging race. The Sydney part of the race is full of a funfair with spectators enjoying the yachts show, while on Hobart's Constitution Dock, where the yachts finish, there will be a range of festivities that coincide with new year events.
